Creative Labs SB0790 PCI Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Sound Card Is still no official support for this sound driver? I'd like to be use an equalizer and have all the goodies in linux. Thanks.
Are you sure it does not work or do you mean it only works in stereo or some such thing? Have you seen this blog? PulseAudio and Selecting the Proper Sound Card Configuration - Blogs - openSUSE Forums I use only Creative sound cards myself and my newest one did not work until kernel 3.3 or 3.4 came out as I remember, but yours has been around for several years, based on the model number and support is not likely to get any better now I would guess. Thank You,
It works. but there are no extra functionality(goodies). Like setting room type(stone, etc). There are some more I can't recall. Does linux have a better equalizer? All the standard settings.
What is a 'better equalizer' ? Better implies a comparison to something else, and in this context a comparison to something those of us participating in this thread know the details of what it is being compared to. I note that that packman packagers package an equalizer for pulse audio: PackMan :: Package details for pulseaudio-equalizer with more information on this equalizer here: https://forums.opensuse.org/blogs/ol...96/#comment341
Better than the default volume control. That didn't come out right. Thanks, the pulse-audio equalizer was what I was looking for. I love using the 'stone room' setting.
