Transit Time Vs Response Time

A question arises during the class what is Transit and Response Tim?

Transit Time vs Response Time:

Transit time is the time a message takes to travel from source to a destination whereas the time between the end of a query to a computer system and the beginning of a response is called the response time.

Example:
The time required to display of the first character of the response at a user terminal after the end of a query.

Full Topic on Transit Time & Response Time

Response Time

The elapsed time between the end of an inquiry or demand on a computer system and the beginning of a response; for example, the length of the time between an indication of the end of an inquiry and the display of the first character of the response at a user terminal.

There is also the concept of perceived response time, which is the time a user senses as the beginning of input and the end of the response. It is actually possible (though not usual) for perceived response time to be too fast (it can be mildly disconcerting if a system responds almost instantly). However, this is not the usual complaint.

Transit Time

A message which we are sending to the destination like i am sending you a chat message or a file attachment via Skype or via online transfer software it tells me to sending in 1 minute so it's called transit time. While the wait to send not for receiving just for sending like i am doing attachment email using Outlook. and it goes to outbox first so it took 1 minute or 2 minute if it has mass file attached and 1 minute is called transit time.
