Networking of Packages ?

If we talk about data communication then why we used the packages to send data why we cant send directly at the same time?

Sending data into packets allows not only fast and reliable data transmission but also makes the exchange management tasks easy especially flow and error control.
When data is formatted into packets, the bit rate of the communication medium can be better shared among users. On the other hand sending data directly without converting into packets is not so efficient and robust as compared to sending data in packets.
