After a 24-hour delay, the European Commission and the European Space Agency (ESA) will send its satellites to outer space.
The EUSSR will become the third country or multi-country with its navigation system, after the U.S. (GPS) and Russia (Glonass).
The European navigation satellites will be delivered by a Soyuz rocket from Kourou in the French Guiana.
A four-minute introduction to Galileo by ESA. The 3D mode is fun: I can actually watch it by getting anti-cross-eyed.
The purely non-military system will be usable since 2014 and its administrative headquarters will be in Prague. The bosses will employ extra folks in the operation centers near Munich, Bavaria and Fucino, Italy.
The launch is scheduled for 12:34 after noon, Prague Summer Time. See live broadcast.
