Globes, e2v: TowerJazz said that e2v has significantly increased the rate of production of its dental x-ray sensors based on TowerJazz’s 0.18um CIS process.
Market sources estimate that the deal will be worth several million dollars in added revenue for TowerJazz per year, beginning with the current year. Over the past year e2v has been progressively increasing production on TowerJazz’s Fab2.
e2v said that the fast growing dental X-ray sensor market, moving from film to digital and from CCD to CMOS technology, was worth $30M in 2009 and is expected to increase by 10-15% per year.
