Siliconfile Goes Germanium

Siliconfile applied for a patent for a SiGe diode based sensor. Germanuim has a very short absorption length for visible light, so red and green crosstalk for small pixels should be much better. However, SiGe dark current is too high. I doubt that anything useful comes out of this. Neat idea, anyway.
