PLDT started rolling out a permanent speed upgrade for Unli Fibr and Unli DSL Plans since December 2018 as part of their HoliDeals Christmas Broadband Sale which is available to new PLDT customers and its existing subscribers.
Unli Home Fibr Plans with their new speed:
Unlimited Home Fibr Plan 1299 (5Mbps new speed, originally 3Mbps)
Unlimited Home Fibr Plan 1699 (15Mbps new speed, originally 5Mbps)
Unlimited Home Fibr Plan 1899 (25Mbps new speed, originally 20Mbps)
Unli Home DSL Plans with their new speed:
Unlimited Home DSL Plan 1299 (5Mbps new speed, originally 3Mbps)
Unlimited Home DSL Plan 1699 (15Mbps new speed, originally 5Mbps)
Unlimited Plan 2899 (50Mbps on Fibr, 20Mbps on Home DSL) speeds still remains the same.
Customers will be subject to a long-term lock-in period (24 months/2 years for Home DSL, 36 months/3 years for Fibr) once their application has been approved. Existing Fibr and DSL landline subscribers, according to the mechanics, must first settle their outstanding obligations within the promo period to qualify.
The speed upgrade roll out has begun in Makati, NCR cities and nearby provinces from region 3 and 4, with other locations seeing speed changes in the coming weeks or months. PLDT estimates that the Fibr speed upgrades will finish by Q1 2019 as this covers close to 1 million subscribers.
