A 20-minute film on SUSY at LHC

Vice Media, Inc. is a youth media company founded in 1994 and operating in 36 countries (vice.com). In 2009, they established Motherboard (motherboard.vice.com), a video magazine.

A day ago or so, they posted the 21-minute video above. It is dedicated to the Run II of the Large Hadron Collider.

Its goal is to find some physics beyond the Standard Model – and "supersymmetry" seems to be the most likely thing that may be found.

Be ready for a charming British redhead host, Victoria Turk, and physicists answering her question. Aside from several experimenters at CERN, you should also get ready for John Ellis. He is also asked about the probability that SUSY is going to be found in this Run II but if he had said a number, I must have missed it. Like your humble correspondent, Ellis is sure that supersymmetry is somewhere out there but we can't be sure whether it is realized with the values of low-energy parameters that make it accessible by the LHC.

However, he has a nice childish T-shirt which is even better. ;-) If SUSY isn't found, he says that he may throw 1/2 of his papers in the last 30 years, 1/2 of the T-shirts he has worn, and 3/4 of the 8 tons of mess in his office to the trash bin.

Alvaro De Rujula is used a SUSY skeptic. He boasts that he has talked to Einstein and he wears a tin foil hat while he is attempting to travel to the past by pumping some antiprotons. At least a sentence was needed for you to get an idea about the degree of sanity of SUSY skeptics.
