Explain "tendency to evaluate"?
In communication, tendency to evaluate means that listener is paying attention to the speaker only for the sake of evaluating his discussion which obviously create hurdles and barriers in proper communication. So, in this scenario the person becomes the evaluator but not a good listener. For proper communication one has to be an effective listener.
For example, if you are listening to an anchor person on television, in spite of focusing on the topic of discussion you start concentrating on the style of anchor, his/her way of speaking, his diction etc. now here you becomes an evaluator rather than a good listener.
